Liverpool vs Burnley: Complete head-to-head record
Liverpool vs Burnley may not be the first fixture that springs to mind when you think of English football.
However, both sides have been frequent comPetitors over the years, clashing over 125 times since their first meeting all the way back in 1894. Since that opening battle, Liverpool have enjoyed greater success in this fixture, with Burnley rarely anything but underdogs for encounters between the clubs.
Here is the complete head-to-head record between Liverpool and Burnley and some memorable meetings from past seasons.

Burnley 1-0 Liverpool - January 2005
With Burnley sat in the second division when they drew Liverpool's name out of the hat in the FA Cup third round, few gave the Clarets hope of staging an upset when Rafa Benitez's side came to visit Turf Moor.
It was the first clash between the sides since 1997 and it was certainly a memorable one for Burnley up against an inexperienced Liverpool, while also producing one of the all-time great FA Cup own goals in the process.
The game finished 1-0 to the Clarets thanks to Djimi Traore firing into his own net just after the break, the defender scooping the ball past Jerzy Dudek under absolutely no pressure at the far post.
It was a bizarre goal to settle the Game, with Antonio Nunez getting sent off late on to rub salt in the wounds for a stunned Liverpool.
Burnley 0-4 Liverpool - April 2010
For the second time in the 2009/10 season, Liverpool would fire four unanswered goals past Burnley in the Premier League. However, on this occasion, it would see the Clarets relegated.
Surprisingly, the Game was goalless at half-time, but the Reds turned on the heat after the restart. Steven Gerrard was the catalyst for an emphatic victory, as he so often was, netting twice in seven second-half minutes to send Liverpool on their way.
It was a rare moment of joy in an underwhelming Liverpool career for Alberto Aquilani, who set up both goals before notching a hat-trick of assists after Maxi Rodriguez converted the Italian's pass. Ryan Babel added a stoppage-time fourth, with Burnley condemned to a return to the Championship.
Burnley 1-2 Liverpool - January 2018
Liverpool kicked 2018 off with a bang after a late victory at Turf Moor on New Year's Day, the Reds fighting to qualify for the Champions League for a second successive season.
Jurgen Klopp's side knew a trip to Sean Dyche's Burnley wouldn't be straightforward and that proved to be the case. Sadio Mane opened the scoring an hour in after a lovely left-footed strike from the edge of the box, but Johann Berg Gudmundsson levelled with just three minutes to play to dent Liverpool's top-four bid.
However, an unlikely hero would emerge for the Reds in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Ragnar Klavan bundled the ball in from a yard out following Dejan Lovren's header. It was one of only two goals the Estonian centre-back would manage for Liverpool.
Liverpool 4-2 Burnley - March 2019
Liverpool vs Burnley is a fixture that doesn't tend to boast too many goals, but there were six to enjoy at Anfield during the 2018/19 season. The Reds fell behind early on as they fought for the Premier League title with Manchester City, Ashley Westwood's corner flying directly into the back of the net and beyond a flapping Alisson.
However, quickfire strikes from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane turned the game on its head after some questionable Burnley defending. The Brazilian added a third from close range after 67 minutes, but that man Gudmundsson continued his scoring record against the Reds with a stoppage-time strike to reduce the deficit.
Just as Burnley looked as if they might snatch a valuable point at Anfield, Mane raced through on goal, prodding past Pope and sliding into an empty net just two minutes after Gudmundsson's effort.
Liverpool 0-1 Burnley - January 2021
Burnley have only managed one victory at Anfield in the Premier League, but unfortunately, no travelling supporters were there to celebrate a surprise triumph on Merseyside.
With Anfield empty due to the coronavirus pandemic, Liverpool endured a torrid run of six straight home defeats in the 2020/21 season, with Burnley's victory the starting point of their woeful streak.
As Liverpool pushed for a winner with the Game goalless, it was Burnley who would steal a victory, Ashley Barnes converting from the penalty spot with just seven minutes to play.
