Sprint races every MotoGP weekend "not the correct way," says Quartararo

In 2023, MotoGP introduced sprint races for the first time in the series' history and ran them at every grand prix weekend - except the Australian GP sprint, which was cancelled due to bad weather. The idea behind the sprints was to offer more value for money for fans at the track and attract a bigger audience watching at home. Of the 20 rounds run this year, 15 events showed an uptick in Saturday attendance (Austin figures not available, India was a first event, Indonesia and Argentina dipped, while Australia's schedule was altered due to the weather, meaning the GP ran on Saturday). 15 million Americans across six states are under heat alerts due to severe weather. This follows a week of extremely high temperatures across the world. Across six state s on Saturday, 15 million Americans will be under heat alert s from Miami to Phoenix to Washington State. In the Southeast, the heat index will be brutal this weekend with highs feeling like the 100s from Florida to Texas. Record-breaking highs are possible in parts of Florida over the weekend, including Miami. ABC News Starting Tuesday and continuing through at least next Sunday, Southern California will be under a heat alert as temperatures are expected to be record breaking and reach near 120 degrees each day.
