Why is Casemiro not playing against Chelsea? When is the Brazilian midfielder expected to return?

It’s been a funny old start to the season for Manchester United, who just last weekend were top of the Premier League’s six-game form table despite doing little to impress most onlookers. Erik Ten Hag has endured a turbulent start to the season, not helped by a host of first-team regulars being unavailable for selection for one reason or not, including former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro , a five-time Champions League winner. Erik ten Hag accepts £40m midfielder has to leave Man Utd

Image
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has accepted that it might be in the best interest of Donny van de Beek to leave Old Trafford in pursuit of playing time. Van de Beek scored on his United debut in 2020 but has struggled to nail down a place in the team virtually ever since. That hasn't changed despite being reunited with former Ajax boss Ten Hag and the midfielder has only been afforded 21 minutes of action across all com Pet itions this season. Ten Hag appears reticent to stand in Van de Beek's way if a departure is what he wants. "I can see he has to play for his career and for everything," the United boss said. Van de Beek had already gone public with his desire to start playing regularly and explained he has reached a point where, despite making good money at United, he has a "choice" to make. "I have to start playing matches very soon, if not at Manchester United, then at another club," he told  De Telegraaf last weekend. "I think...

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed midfielder Mason Mount has picked up another injury and could be set for a spell on the sidelines. Mount missed five Game s earlier this season through injury and has since struggled to force his way back into Ten Hag's starting lineup, coming off the bench in four of United's last six Premier League outings. Having struggled for continuity since his arrival from Chelsea during the summer, Mount is once again on the sidelines after picking up an injury . "Mason picked up an issue so we have to assess if he's available for the game or not," Ten Hag told club media on Friday. Sources have confirmed to 90min that Mount has been ruled out of Sunday's clash with Everton but United officials are hopeful the midfielder will return to action before the end of the calendar year.
