But then, as the players who were lined up to start got their heads in gear for the clash with their guests from Braga, Carlo Ancelotti had another issue to deal with. Muscular discomfort in his right leg was the cause reported and he would be expected to go for tests on Thursday to assess the extent of the problem. A shooting that broke out early Sunday morning after "an altercation between two groups" in a Tampa neighborhood has killed two people and injured 18 others, according to police . The shooting took place after fighting between the groups began around 3 a.m. in Ybor City, a neighborhood in east Tampa, Florida, Tampa Police Department Chief Lee Bercaw told reporters during a news conference early Sunday morning. One person died at the scene while a second victim died at a hospital as a result of sustained injuries, the chief said. A Taliban government spokesperson says the death toll from strong earthquakes that shook western Afghanistan has jumped to more than 2,000 ISLAMABAD -- Powerful earthquakes killed at least 2,000 people in western Afghanistan, a Taliban government spokesman said Sunday. It’s one of the deadliest earthquakes to strike the country in two decades. The figures couldn't be independently verified, but if correct, the toll would eclipse that of an earth quake that hit eastern Afghanistan in June 2022, striking a rugged, mountainous region, flattening stone and mud-brick homes and killing at least 1,000 people. Saturday’s magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit a far more densely populated area, near Afghanistan’s fourth largest city, Herat. It was followed by strong aftershocks. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake’s epicenter was about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northwest of Herat city.
