Sons Of The Forest Player Beats The Game In Under 8 Minutes

Sons of the Forest has become the latest video Game phenomenon, selling over 24 million copies in just 24 hours and quickly rising to fifth spot in Steam most played titles. Obviously, there's a lot of enjoyment to be had with the Game 's slow base building and survival mechanics, but one player isn't satisfied with sitting around and building a little log cabin. Instead, they've tasked themselves with finishing the Game as quickly as possible, and have seemingly managed to set a world record speedrun of 7 minutes and 38 seconds. First shared by Game sRadar, a YouTuber by the name of OkiaBetter has uploaded their world record run to their YouTube channel, which involves all kind of glitches and tricks to finish the Game in the same amount of time it takes most people to pick out a good spot for their base. We've embedded the video below for you down below, which starts out with OkiaBetter waking up and immediately gunning it to the top of a nearby mountain

Xbox Series X Sales Reportedly 12 Million Behind PS5

It's hard to believe the current generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles is already well over two years old. As both become more widely available following shortages for those first two years, comparing sales numbers now starts to paint a better picture of how each has performed so far. A little more than two years in, the PS5 currently has an almost 12 million unit lead over the Xbox Series X|S. Since Xbox rarely reveals how many consoles it has sold, those latest figures are based on estimates published by Ampere Analysis’ Piers Harding-Rolls (thanks, VGC). The same research believes that gap will only widen in the coming months. That's due to PS5s being easier to find, but Series X stock not becoming more widely available until the second half of 2023. RELATED: PS VR2 Review - An Expensive Glimpse At The Future A significant gap between PlayStation and Xbox would have been expected by all parties. It's not all bad for Xbox though. The analysi

Damian Lillard is quietly becoming one of the greatest scorers in NBA history

You likely know by now that Damian Lillard dropped 71 points on the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. He did it in just 39 minutes with a total shot distance of 420 feet, both unparalleled feats in NBA history -- or in the case of the latter, since the start of the shot-location tracking era (1996-97).  If you're interested in more of the crazy numbers to come out of Lillard's performance, check out our Sam Quinn's piece , which notes, among other statistical items, that Lillard is just the second player in History , joining Kobe Bryant, to put up two 60-point Game s in two separate seasons (2022-23, 2019-20), which I can't totally wrap my head around.  Have you any idea how hard it is to score 60 points in an NBA game? LeBron James, now officially the single greatest scorer in history, has only done it one time in his career. Lillard has done it twice just this season and five times total.  Speakin

Cyberpunk 2077 Fans Try To Figure Out How Many Crimes V Commits

Night City isn't a safe place to live at the best of times, and it only gets worse when V is unleashed in Cyberpunk 2077. Even if you make your way to each mission by driving on the right side of the road, stopping at every red light, and letting pedestrians cross unscathed, it's impossible to do a crime-free run of Cyberpunk. So, as V fights to save their life, how many crimes do they commit? Fans are trying to figure this out over in the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, and damn, it's a mystery how V has avoided the NCPD for so long. From multiple counts of murder, battery, and grand theft auto, to the unauthorized use of Military hardware, V has got to be the most notorious criminal to ever grace the streets of Night City. And that's not even the half of it. Sonic Speed Simulator Adds Auto-Run And Fans Hate It

Sonic Speed Simulator, the official Sonic Game on Roblox, has received a controversial new feature. Nominally a runner where players have to guide their Sonic character to collect rings, Chaos Orbs, and more, now Sonic Speed Simulator has an auto run option for Roblox players that just can’t be bothered. Added in this weekend's update, Auto Run does exactly what it says--the player no longer needs to offer any input for their character to automatically run throughout the level. This means you'll collect rings and acquire XP without needing to do anything at all. Related: Fans Want To See Sonic R, Sonic The Fighters, And More In Sonic Origins Plus There are some downsides to Auto Run. For starters, your character will top out at around 130 mph or so, which isn't very fast. You can definitely acquire resources and experience faster by not using Auto Run. Also, Auto Run will not jump and it won't move side to side, meaning you'll miss a lot of stuff througho

Minecraft Fan Ruins Leather For Everyone, Reveals It Looks Like Naked Hedgehog

Very few of us have seen an actual tanned hide, so it’s a little off-putting to see the skin of an animal hide laid out the way it is in Minecraft. Mojang could have just drawn leather strips or a darkened folded rectangle to represent a more processed stage of the leather-making process, but no, we get a whole-ass hide for the leather block. And because Mojang hasn't revisited that decision in all of Minecraft's History , we can now see the similarity between a half-naked hedgehog splayed out on a table and the Minecraft leather block. Related: Minecraft Players Want The Torchlight Flower To Glow Reddit user Limp_Manufacturer787 wrote, "My girlfriend has forever tainted leather for me." She did that by showing a picture of a hedgehog being x-rayed, which bears a striking resemblance to Minecraft’s leather. Atomic Heart Dev Apologises For Racist Caricature

Atomic Heart has its fair share of issues. Apart from the controversy surrounding its Russian developer, Mundfish, the Game also has a lackluster story, cringy dialogue, and bland overworld. However, one of the more shocking aspects of the Game comes in the form of a racist caricature. In Atomic Heart's save rooms, you can watch an old '50s cartoon called Nu, Pogodi! Likened to Tom and Jerry, this cartoon unfortunately depicts what is known as a Golliwog, which is a racist caricature of a Black person. The Game has been called out by many players on ResetEra for including or failing to remove this caricature. Developer Mundfish has now come out with a statement, apologising for the inclusion of the caricature. "The Mundfish team thanks the PC Game r contributor for bringing this lack of sensitivity to our attention. We apologize if using the vintage cartoon or music has caused hurt or insult. We will edit the parts in question." said the statement.

New Pokemon Anime Has Its Own Pikachu, A Seafaring Captain

Pokemon fans are preparing to say goodbye to Ash as his run in the anime nears its end. Not much has been revealed about the fate of Ash's Pikachu, though. However, new information from The Pokemon Company confirms an entirely new Pikachu will be introduced to the show later this year. The new Pikachu you'll be introduced to whenever the new series airs in your part of the world will seemingly be pretty different from Ash's version. Known as Captain Pikachu, the one image of the new take on the world's most famous Pokemon revealed so far suggests it has a lot more attitude than any other Pikachu we've been introduced to before. RELATED: This Year's Pokemon Day Could Be Huge For New Game s THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY It makes sense as you'd certainly need a lot of confidence to ascend to the rank of captain, especially when all you can say is “Pika-chu”. It also means the new Pikachu will be wearing a captain's hat, giving Game

Rhode Island Weather for Feb. 24, 2023 – John Donnelly

Image
by John Donnelly, meteorologist A strong push of Canadian high pressure drives the weather for the day, reminding us that Winter “ ain’t dead yet!” We’ll have to deal with some brutal northwesterly winds persisting with a plunging temperature, yielding wind chills flirting with the teens. Fitting that we’ll have a backwards temperature regime, with morning highs in the upper 30’s and evening lows in the low 20’s. ___ Today’s weather sponsor: John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst . ___ Source: https://thefoxposts.com/rhode-island-weather-for-feb-24-2023-john-donnel

First Ever MMO Found By Gaming Preservationist

Habitat was one of the first graphical virtual worlds and it has a major place in gaming history. Developed by Lucasfilm Games, it came out in 1986, and was the first attempt at a large-scale virtual community, and it is the world's first ever massively multiplayer online game or MMO. A couple years down the line, Lucasfilm Games would release a down-sized version named Club Caribe and it is this edition that has been discovered out in the wild. And the person who found a physical copy of the game is none other than Frank Cifaldi, the founder and co-director of the Video Game History Foundation, a nonprofit based in Oakland, California that is dedicated to preserving and teaching the history of our beloved medium. Cifaldi made the "incredible find" at Retro City Games in Las Vegas and shared his discovery via his Twitter page. Fallout: New Vegas Mod Adds Oblivion's Vampire Trait

If you have ever been playing Fallout: New Vegas and thought that the only thing this Game is missing is vampirism, then do I have some good news for you. A new mod is adding an Oblivion-esque vampire system into New Vegas, so now you can add vampires to the list of things that want to kill you in the Game . The “Wasteland Vampirism” mod comes from user seldalore over on Nexus Mods. Simply put, it adds the Wasteland Vampirism trait to New Vegas, as well as a playable vampire race. This means that humans and Animals will have a “fresh blood” item in their inventory once killed. Those infected with vampirism need that fresh blood to stop from going feral.
