Liverpool to hold Anfield Road Stand trial ahead of Man Utd clash
Liverpool will host a trial event for the new Anfield Road Stand in the coming days as they seek to partially open the top tier before Manchester United come to town on December 17. The building work encountered major delays earlier this year when the firm in charge went bankrupt, forcing Liverpool to begin this season with the top tier of the stand shut. According to This Is Anfield , Liverpool are planning to partially open the expanded top tier when they face United later this month, but they are yet to obtain the licence from Liverpool City Council which would allow them to do so. In order to pick up that licence, Liverpool will host a trial event on December 11, with more than 3,000 fans invited to the top tier of the Anfield Road Stand for a free Q&A event with first-team manager Jurgen Klopp. Should Liverpool prove that they can host such a number of fans safely, they will be permitted to partially open the top tier for the visit from United.
