Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on an initial loan until the end of the season. Spurs had been scouring Europe for another attacking option for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign and they moved swiftly to secure Werner's signature after opening talks over a deal last week. Manchester United had also made an enquiry about Werner earlier this winter, but they did not follow up on their interest and he has now joined Tottenham, who have an optional purchase clause reported to be worth £13m to £17m.
