Jack’s Angle: The Matos nomination controversy lingers on – John J. “Jack” Partridge
by John J. “Jack” Partridge, contributing writer , commentary As predicted in this commentary column, the Board of Elections review of signatures on Sabina Matos’ nomination papers would not be revealing, only a process of calling or visiting those alleged signatories would quell the public doubts as to the legitimacy of her nomination prior to primary voting. It can only be hoped that he Board will complete its investigation prior to the general election in November. I still think it surprising that her campaign did not request a full review of her nomination papers to dispel the public’s disquiet. Why not? After all, her name is on the ballot. Why? Is it that it is concerned there may be more to reveal? No matter what happens next her nomination will be remembered as flawed and her good name soiled.
