Meta is rolling out a new AI chatbot for Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, Mark Zuckerberg has announced

A new AI assistant will soon bring ChatGPT-like convenience to the pockets of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram users, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Thursday.

The major changes across all three of the companies apps, utilising generative AI, were revealed at the annual Connect conference, and showcase and highlighted what social media is about to look like in what Meta called “this next generation of AI”.

“Meta AI is a new assistant you can interact with like a person,” Meta said in a statement on Thursday.

The company said it had already trained up various chatbot personalities with algorithms to suit certain users and their varying needs.

“There’s Victor, a motivational coach who encourages you to hit your goals. The Dungeon Master can take you on an old-school text-based adventure. And our sous chef Max can take the random assortment of ingredients in your pantry and come up with a delicious recipe on the fly,” Meta said.

“(They) have more personality, opinions, and interests, and are a bit more fun to interact with.”

OpenAI in talks to raise new funding at $100 billion valuation

 OpenAI is in early talks to raise a fresh round of funding at a valuation at or above $100 billion , Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter. The terms, valuation and timing of the funding round have not yet been finalized and could still change, the report said. OpenAI has also held discussions to raise funding for a new chip venture with Abu Dhabi-based G42, according to the report. It is unclear if the chip venture and wider company funding were related, the report said, adding that OpenAI has discussed raising between $8 billion and $10 billion from G42.
